Know the most polluting industries in your city!
- Maharashtra is one of the most industrialised states in India, where industrial air pollution is one of the key contributors to the deteriorating ambient air quality. The Maharashtra Star Rating Program provides information on polluting industries by assigning star ratings to industries on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being the most polluting while 5 being the least polluting industry. This data is made available in an easy to understand format for citizens.
- An interactive industrial air pollution map enables users to easily identify the most & least polluted clusters in Maharashtra. Citizens can use this map to locate and identify industries closest to their city and know their respective Star Ratings.
- Under the Star Rating Program, the industrial air pollution ratings are based on the total particulate matter emissions of industries in Maharashtra (visit About Program)
- The success of the Maharashtra Star Rating Program has prompted other states to initiate their own Star Rating Programs.
